Turn on two-factor sign-in

On Security, scan the code with an authenticator app, type the 6-digit code it shows, and save your recovery codes.

Steps

1. Open Security and start two-factor sign-in.
2. Scan the code with an authenticator app (or enter the key shown under it).
3. Type the 6-digit code the app shows.
4. Save the recovery codes somewhere safe. Each works once if your phone is lost, and they are not shown again.

Good to know

• New owners who sign up themselves turn on two-factor before anything else.
• Lost your recovery codes? You can make new ones on Security while you are signed in.
