QuickBooks per company, plus a budgeting app, adds up fast

If you run a household and a few LLCs today, you're probably paying for QuickBooks Online separately for each company, plus a personal app like Monarch or YNAB on top of that. Three companies on QuickBooks Simple Start plus Monarch runs about $1,468 a year — before your accountant's bill — and none of those tools talk to each other.

How it works

  1. Import your QuickBooks history

Upload your QuickBooks Online ZIP or XLSX export. Columnwell rebuilds your trial balance and ties it out against your own numbers, so nothing gets lost or restated.

  2. Connect your banks

Link accounts read-only via SimpleFIN, a flat $15/yr you pay SimpleFIN directly. Plaid support is planned but not built yet.

  3. Run your household and every LLC in one place

Budgets, goals, runway, invoicing and multi-entity books, side by side — with each company's books kept strictly separate.

Why this exists

Columnwell is built by a solo founder running seven LLCs alongside his own household, who got tired of paying for QuickBooks once per company. It's made carefully, on faith, for people doing the same.
